Instructions for Using the Parent Portal
 

Logging on::
PowerSchool is a secure, web-based application portal that can be accessed from any computer with internet access and a web browser.

Compatible web browsers are:  Internet Explorer 8, Mozilla's Firefox, Apple's Safari and Google's Chrome. The PowerSchool Parent/Student Portal can be found at the following web address: (https://powerschool.aiken.k12.sc.us/public/) or by clicking on the Parent Portal Login link under General Information.

Secure Access:
PowerSchool requires all parents/guardians to have a different username and password for each child in the school system. This may change with future release of PowerSchool by Pearson, but for now, different unique parent/guardian username and passwords will be issued and required for each child.

Students at the high school's may also be given access to the Parent/Student portal.

 

Viewable Student Information:

Grades and Attendance: Use this page to view the grades and attendance for the student in the current term. Grades are displayed as real-time from the teacher's gradebook. The grade in blue is a clickable link that will display the individual assignments that factor into the calculation of the grade. Attendance is displayed as real-time attendance codes for the previous and current week. The number of absences in blue is a clickable link that will show all absences for the year. Currently, the noted tardies will only represent excused tardies. Future releases/updates to PowerSchool may show both excused and unexcused tardies. The blue teacher link will allow you to email the teacher.

Grades History: Use this page to view the current term stored grades. The grade in here is a clickable link that will display the individual assignments that factor into the calculation of the grade.

 


Attendance History: Use this page to view the cumulative detail of all attendance by period recorded for your child.

 

Email Notification: Use this page to designate which summary reports, listed below, you would like to have emailed to yourself or others.

  • Summary of current grades and attendance
  • Detailed reports showing all assignment scores for each class
  • Detailed report of attendance
  • School Announcements
  • Balance Alert: This feature of the program is not functional at this time.

 

Teacher Comments: Use this page to view any comments that teachers entered.

 

School Bulletin: Use this link to view school bulletins
Class Registration: Not currently being used by Aiken County Schools
Logout: Use this button to exit Parent Portal.
Help: Click on the this button for specific help on the Parent Portal screen.

Print Page: Select the Printing Instructions link on the left side of this page to print PDF's of information provided on these pages.

In addition, this icon may be on pages in the Parent Portal. Click on icon to print information displayed.
